Aesthetic Injections

The unique features of every face make it interesting and beautiful. We will help you achieve and maintain the look you want while enhancing your best features. Our treatment plan will seek to provide you with natural-looking results.
The injections we use are all FDA approved, purchased directly from the pharmaceutical manufacturers and are provided by specially trained, board certified nurse practitioners with experience and certification using injectables such as Botox, for medical conditions including migraines as well as for anti-aging treatments.
Neurotoxins, such as Botox, (onabotulinumtoxinA) work by blocking a chemical called acetylcholine at the neuro-muscular junction, temporarily relaxing the muscle, and softening lines and wrinkles. By training the muscles to be more relaxed, it can help prevent dynamic wrinkles from becoming static wrinkles.
Dynamic wrinkles are a result of facial muscle movement noting these most commonly across the forehead, at the outer corners of your eyes (crow's feet) and between the eyebrows. Over time, dynamic wrinkles tend to become static (visible with muscles at rest).
Static wrinkles are caused by gravity and aging with the loss of fat and collagen and the decrease in skin elasticity. This kind of wrinkle is visible regardless of movement of facial muscles. Minimizing the appearance of static wrinkles usually requires not only neurotoxin but also addition of dermal fillers.
How much pain is involved?
Our goal is to minimize discomfort during your procedure. Neurotoxins are the least painful injectables as the needle is very small and the solution is low volume. Injections are described by many as tiny pinches
Results & Side Effects
Results for Botox are seen in 3-10 days as the muscles relax and the wrinkles and lines gradually soften. Results typically last about 12 weeks.

Common side effects of Botox are redness, swelling or bruising. There is also the possibility of eyebrow raising or drooping but both of these are adjustable.
Risks are dependent on your medical history, the area being treated, the injectate used, and will be discussed in greater detail at your consultation.

For Best Results
Avoid Excess Physical Activity
It's most beneficial to avoid any form of strenuous physical activity, including weight training and aerobic exercises, for 2-3 days following your injectable treatment. Rigorous activity can increase your heart rate and blood flow, which prevents damaged capillaries at the injection site from quickly healing.

Elevated Sleeping
Avoid sleeping for at least 3-4 hours following your treatment in order to avoid any inadvertent rubbing or pressing on the treatment area. On the first night following your treatment, sleep with your head elevated by propping it up with extra pillow(s).

No Touching
Do not touch the treatment area for at least the first 6 hours after the injection. Specifically, avoid putting any pressure on the injection area as that can cause added trauma to the blood vessels (resulting in further bruising). Never massage the treated area unless specifically instructed to do so by your provider. Any application of ice should be avoided. If you believe the application of cold is needed, use a cloth that has been placed in iced water and that is not dripping (wring out excess water) and GENTLY place over affected area.
Minimize Bruising
Certain injectables are more likely to cause bruising than others. For example, hyaluronic fillers like Juvederm and Restylane pose an increased risk of post-treatment bruising as they are thicker and are often injected deeper into the skin. On the other hand, Botox and other neurotoxins cause less bruising because they typically do not penetrate the skin as deeply. Fortunately, most post-treatment bruising is minor and resolves on its own within a day or two, and there are steps you can take to minimize the effects.

Avoid Blood Thinners
For one week prior to injection, avoid taking any medication or supplements that cause thinning of the blood or restrict the blood’s ability to properly clot. (Please note: If you have pre-existing conditions that require the use of anticoagulants, you should always discuss with the provider before receiving treatment or stopping medication.)

Arnica Montana
Arnica Montana is a natural remedy which can reduce post-procedure inflammation and bruising. This can be purchased over the counter and is available as an oral tablet or topical preparation. Consider using this for 5 days prior to procedure and the days following.

Pineapple
Fresh pineapple contains bromelain, which has been known to decrease bruising. You can also take bromelain supplements 2 weeks prior to injections. You can also try eating pineapple during the first 2 days after Botox or filler treatment.

Avoid Alcohol
It's recommended that you avoid alcohol consumption 2 days prior to injection to help the healing process.
Weight Loss
Our goal is to assist you to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Our program helps you accomplish this goal, using FDA approved medication to help control appetite, thereby helping you to make healthful food choices. We also provide B-12 or B-12 mic injections to assist with metabolism and boost energy.
We will meet with you, perform a brief physical exam, go over your health history, discuss eating habits and challenges with weight loss. Once we have determined that you are an appropriate candidate for safe treatment by our method, we will provide you with a prescription for the first month medication as well as provide you with your first injection.
You will then meet with us once per month to discuss your progress and challenges and monitor heart rate and blood pressure.
B-12 injections:
Given by intramuscular injection once per month to improve energy level and boost metabolism. B-12 is a water-soluble vitamin and any excesses are simply excreted in the urine.
B-12 mic injections/ LIPO B shots:
This injection includes B-12 as well as amino acids (methionone, inositol, choline). This will help boost energy, improve mood, and increase fat metabolism while you are on your lower calorie diet. B-12 mic injections also speed thought processes, improve liver function and help control cholesterol levels.
Methionone: an amino acid acting to prevent excess fat buildup in the liver and the body, increase lean muscle mass, relieve fatigue, reduce histamine release. Methionone also acts as an antioxidant, deactivating free radicals to help neutralize toxins.
Inositol: a B-complex vitamin aids in metabolism of fats and helps reduce blood cholesterol. It also participates in the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter important for control of mood and appetite.
Choline: plays a role in cardiovascular health and is associated with the utilization of fats and cholesterol in the body, prevents fats from accumulating in the liver, and aids in the movement of fats into the cells. Choline is a B-complex vitamin and is naturally present in the body. It functions along with inositol as a basic component of lecithin. Choline is also an aid to hormone production.
LIPO B shots are given once weekly.
Phentermine
The oral medication we use most often is phentermine which works by stimulating your feeling of fullness after eating, while decreasing your appetite.
This medication has been around since 1959.
There are possible side effects to all medicines but most patients tolerate this very well. Many patients notice having some extra energy while taking phentermine. Blood pressure could become elevated and we will be monitoring this during treatment. We will ask that you check your own blood pressure once weekly at home as well. Let us know right away if you are having any side effects and in many cases we can adjust the dose without stopping treatment.
Cost of Weight Loss Treatment
Monthly follow up visit to include B-12 injection and phentermine refill: 80$.
If you would like an additional B-12 injection mid-month this is at a cost of just 20$.
